Episode 11 - The Mid-Holiday Episode

Ariel, Cassandra and Catherine talk about holiday knitting, a bit of Cassandra’s spindling, stash enhancement followed by stash guilt, and then the random.

Catherine is knitting the Two-Tone Ribbed Shrug from Fitted Knits.

Ariel is knitting Central Air.

Cassandra is still knitting the Endpaper Mitts for Alexis. She's also started spinning a bit!

There's also talk of holiday knitting and which recipients should get handknits.

The girls ooh and ahh over their new BMFA Raven yarn, and Ariel shares her stash enhancement from Ancient Threads.

On to the topic of boys... Catherine's got her eye on some projects in the newest of the SnB series, and Ariel is contemplating Durrow as a way to screen potential boyfriends. Cassandra suggests you just smell them.

Episode 10.1 - Secret Spook

Catherine, Cathy, Cassandra and Ariel get together and talk about what they're knitting and what they gave and received in the Secret Spook swap!

Because this episode was so long, this is just part 1 of 2. Part 2 should be up next week and contains a book report, a science lesson, and a yarn review plus a little more craziness... of course.

Episode 8 - Is that ribbing?

Killing vampires, why Catherine will be wearing a turtle to Rhinebeck and what we should hit up while we’re there. Also hear the tales of sad and happy socks. And plenty of outtakes this week (they’re after the contact info for those of you who haven’t discovered them yet.)

Ariel is knitting York from Noro Knits.

Most of the group is heading to Rhinebeck this weekend!

Cathy just finished Emerald from Knitty.

The Gemstone Debate:

Ruby is corundum and emerald is beryl, but they both contain chromium as an impurity. So we’re all sort of right!

Catherine isn't sure she'll finish Argosy in time for Rhinebeck, so she might wear Coronet instead.

And we announce the winners of the Knitting Disasters contest! (More details on the podcast or in an upcoming post by Catherine.)

P.S. If you're at Rhinebeck feel free to come and say hi to us - we'll be wearing FiberCult T-shirts and likely hanging around in a big group so we should be easy to find.

Episode 4 - Knitting Disasters

In this episode Ariel, Catherine, and Cassandra wax poetic about life, trips to Chicago, and the contents of their Sockapalooza packages. Oh... wait, that was the unedited version.

Seriously, we recorded for over an hour so this one was severely edited!

In the version you're going to hear, we talk about what we're knitting (lots since the last podcast!), our Sockapalooza socks, and knitting disasters. There's even a little contest.

Episode 3 Links

Sorry it's taken so long to get the links up for Episode 3.

We're still working out how to record Amanda over Skype without echos (we use one mic for the rest of us since 5 headsets is not practical if even possible) but we hope to get that under control soon. Also I've had a cold so I wasn't going to make you all hear me cough and sniffle this week.

Episode 3 - Knitting Around

In this episode we discuss knitting pretty much everywhere except at our knitting group! In addition we go off on rather large tangents (detective sheep anyone?) and Cassandra and I give a little science lesson about chitin, that hot new sock yarn fiber.

Show notes coming soon!

Finally, we're up on iTunes!

Well after much trouble getting a listing up on iTunes, I just checked and found us there. :D

Their submission form was down for a while and then our submission got "lost" and I had to resubmit, but we're up and hopefully that will make it a little easier for our fabulous listeners to subscribe.

Amanda is down in DC now and we'll be trying to figure out how to get her recorded in the podcast as soon as she gets a little more settled.

Episode 2 - The Gang's All Here!

Finally (ok, so it's only the second episode) we've got everyone together in one podcast! I think the audio quality is much better as well, and my editing has improved.

In this podcast we introduce the Cs and have a spinning interlude with Cathy and Ariel. We also talk about our knitting and fiber-related goals and a bit about our stashes.

Also a quick note about the iTunes listing:

I've submitted the podcast rss to iTunes but it is still not searchable for some reason. I tried to submit it again but it seems there's something wrong with iTunes at the moment because it won't let us submit the feed.

Until then you can subscribe with iTunes by going to Advanced -> Subscribe to Podcast and entering our rss feed url: http://fibercult.libsyn.com/rss

Thanks for listening!

Welcome to Our Knitting Group!!

Six of us? Yes, SIX. Like any knitting group, at any meeting, the attendees vary. So, who are we? I'm Amanda, former traveling knitter (now officially on my way to DC). Ariel is the sock "goddess." Alexis knits everything from socks to...Mounties...(?) Cathy is our resident lace knitter and spinner, Cassandra is the Sock Virgin. And Catherine is the crafty one - not just knitting, but goddess of many other crafts, too!

Thanks for stopping by our online and podcast knitting group! We're working on our first episode now, so check back for additional details soon.
